About the founders of Bed Linens, Etc.

One of the founders profiled here, Todd Colvin, is a Limited Partner of Best in Beds, Ltd. and serves on their Board Of Directors. Other than "advising", Mrs. Colvin is not currently involved in the "day to day" operations of the Bed Linens Etc., or Best in Beds, Ltd. businesses.

The other founders are Don Allen, C.E.O. of Ad Wizards Internet Services and Webmaster for Best in Beds, Ltd. and his wife. Mrs. Allen, like Mrs. Colvin, is not currently involved in the day to day operations but "advises" as required.

Although no longer active in the "day to day" operations, Mrs. Colvin has been deeply committed to... and supportive of the concepts behind the building of the Best in Beds, Ltd. and Bed Linens Etc. businesses.

Todd has been associated with the furniture & bedding industry since graduating from Colgate University in the mid fifties. During over 19 years with the Simmons Company, he held several key management positions, including District Manager for the Mid-Atlantic States, Assistant to the Vice President of Sales, Director Of Sales Education, Sales Manager of the National Accounts Division and General Manager of the Living Room Division.

After leaving Simmons, Todd spent almost 20 years with the Sealy organization... serving as Director Of Marketing For North America, Vice President Of Sales & Marketing & later Vice President & General Manager Of Sealy Southeast, Vice President Of Furniture Operations and finally Vice President of Licensing and International Operations.

Todd was the "conceptual" father of the basic Best in Beds, Ltd. and Bed Linens Etc. strategic plan. With the help and support of several friends and associates... Best in Beds, Ltd. opened for business in early 1994.

Not too long after that, Todd became extremely interested in the potential of the Internet as a commercial entity and Best in Beds, Ltd. became the first company in the furniture & bedding industry to have a site on the world wide web. The business has grown considerably over the past few years and through the developing of Internet programs for other businesses (Some that also sell bedding!), Todd and the Bed Linens Etc. team are SHARING their extensive knowledge of this fabulous entity with many people.

Todd enjoys the business... counts himself fortunate to have such a fabulous wife... great children, grandchildren and friends... and whenever possible... can be found fishing.

Don Allen

Marilyn Allen

Don Allen became interested in computers and the Internet in 1993. After developing his already extensive sales skills and projecting his creative juices towards "online" activities, he started up Ad Wizards Internet Services in 1996. Ad Wizards has turned out to be a sucessful commercial host site that assists small and medium sized businesses to establish a presence on the World Wide Web. It was just a matter of time before Don met Todd and they created an alliance that benefits everyone they deal with.

Don started his selling and marketing career early in life. At the tender age of 7 he was selling baby toads for garden insect control and golden-eyed needle kits to mothers. His natural abilities in marketing of products and sales continued to develop through a 15 year career with Cummins-Allison Corp. - a manufacturer of specialized bank and office equipment and eventually evolved into his own business DMA Enterprises.

Don has been happily married for 32 years to Marilyn and they have one daughter. He currently spoils his 3 grandchildren whenever he gets the chance.

When not typing away on his computer, helping clients, or taking orders for various products, Don enjoys spending time with his wife Marilyn, reading, or ... fishing with Todd!
