WARRANTIES & RETURN POLICY
QUESTION:
What if I receive a product that has a manufacturing defect
or is not the size or color that I ordered?
ANSWER:
Notify us at svcdesk@bed-linens.net
or 800 776-9233. We will then contact the factory concerning
the problem and arrange to have the item repaired or replaced.
QUESTION:
Can I return an item if I just don't like it after I received
it?
ANSWER:
It depends on the factory... and their policy in this regard.
Some do not take anything back under these circumstances...
some take anything back within a given period of time (if the
product is in good condition, etc.). Some of those that
do take products back under these circumstances charge a "re-stocking"
fee and some do not. We try to put the policies concerning
this in easy to find locations on the site... however, if you
have been unable to locate the policy please contact us at svcdesk@bed-linens.net
or 800 776-9233.
QUESTION:
What is the "return" policy on products manufactured
by your "Custom Factory"?
ANSWER:
Because each order is made custom, to your specifications,
they will not accept returns for any reasons other than manufacturing
defects. We are happy to send you a sample of the fabric you
are considering before you make your final decision. We
are also willing to answer any
of your questions via email,
or via telephone, prior to your purchase. In the case of manufacturing
defects, the original product must be shipped back to the factory
before replacements will be sent. The factory reserves the right
to repair or replace defective products at their discretion.
QUESTION:
What is the "return" policy on products manufactured
by "Kimlor" (Makers of "True Grit", "Bellagio",
"Karin Maki", "Advantage", "Realtree",
"Mossy Oak", Etc.)?
ANSWER:
If the goods are determined to have a manufacturing defect within
6 months of purchase, they can be returned for full credit...
or replaced. However, NO returns can be made without an
RMA# (Return Merchandise Authorization). On merchandise
returned for reasons other than manufacturing defects... AND
found by the factory to be in resalable (i.e.) in new condition
a credit will be issued (by check) in the amount of 80% of the
purchase price of the merchandise. You will be responsible
for the cost of shipping the goods back to the factory (as well
as, the original F&H) to you.
QUESTION: What is the "return" policy on products
manufactured by "Down, Inc.", manufacturers of the
down products sold by Bed Linens, Etc.?
ANSWER:
Down, Inc. (In most cases) will take back items that customers
are unsatisfied with for any reason... as long as they have
not been used, laundered, abused, etc. You will be responsible
for the shipment charges back to the factory, as well as, the
original shipment charges. DO NOT ship anything back until
you have received the appropriate RA# and authorization from
us. Upon notification from the factory that the merchandise
has been received in good condition, etc., you will be forwarded
a check for the appropriate refund.

DELIVERY
QUESTION:
Once I place an order, when can I expect delivery?
ANSWER:
Almost everything (unless requested "otherwise") is
shipped via UPS ground and should arrive at your home approximately
7 to 10 days after you place your order. If
it has not arrived within that time, please contact us at svcdesk@bed-linens.net
or 800 776-9233.
QUESTION:
If I need something faster than the "normal" delivery,
can it be done?
ANSWER:
Usually... yes. Both 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air shipments
are available from most of our factories. Just give us
a call at 800 776-9233 and we will let you know what the charges
will be and the expected arrival date.
QUESTION:
If my order is "small" why is the F&H $19.99?
ANSWER:
Most of our factories charge us a "handling" charge
per order (In addition to the actual shipping costs)... regardless
of the $ amount or the number of items on the order. No
matter what you purchase, the F&H does not go over $19.99...
which means if your order is large, the F&H is a "good
deal". If your order is only for an item costing
$19.99... the F&H is not such a "good deal. If
that is the case, please give us a call at 800 776-9233... and
we will give you a discount... if possible.
QUESTION:
If I order something from your "custom fabrics"
or "custom factory" will it take longer for me to
receive my order?
ANSWER:
No, in most cases, you will receive your order even faster.
Our "Custom Factory" is very automated from a technology
standpoint, gets the orders we place in to production quickly,
& gets them "out the door" faster than factories
that work out of a finished good inventory.
QUESTION:
Is my signature required on delivery?
ANSWER:
Yes... if you do not want it required, please let us know by
phone or e-mail.

PRODUCT
AND "TECHNICAL"
QUESTION:
Will my Bridal Satin sheets, comforters, etc. have a "center
seam"?
ANSWER:
Yes. Bridal Satin is only available to any factory (not just
ours) in 45" wide bolts, and thus, all sheets made of Bridal
Satin must have a center seam. This center seam is reinforced,
and generally does not cause a problem.
QUESTION:
What does the term "percale" mean?
ANSWER:
Though many people assume that "percale" means a polyester-cotton
blend, this is untrue. A percale can be made of 100% cotton,
100% polyester, or any combination in between. Percale fabric
begins its life as two sets of undyed, interwoven threads, known
as a "greycloth" that will later have its color and
pattern "sprayed" on. The "thread count"
of a percale fabric is found by counting the threads going in
both directions inside one square inch of the fabric.
QUESTION:
Does a higher Thread Count mean the fabric is better and/or
softer?
ANSWER:
The thread count of the fabric determines its density, and that
generally gives you a good gauge of its softness, although there
are other factors that impact the softness of the fabric even
more than its thread count. One such factor is "content."
The content of percale can vary widely. Even a high thread
count 60/40 percale blend won't be as soft or luxuriant as a
lower thread count 100% cotton. Also, a dark colored cotton
percale will feel stiffer than a lighter colored percale with
the same thread count (due to dye saturation). Even within
cotton itself, there are many differences in grade. Just as
grapes grown in certain regions are favored by wine connoisseurs
over grapes grown in others, the quality of cotton can be estimated
by its origin.
Our own domestic cotton is an excellent breed called "pima"
cotton. This is a long-staple cotton, and is relatively inexpensive,
considering its high quality. The fertile Nile valley which
also produces the same breed of Pima Cotton as the United States,
calls their more luxuriant textile "Egyptian Cotton."
With its longer, silkier, and thicker fibers, this cotton is
woven into the absolute best percales. Unfortunately, since
it must be imported from Egypt, and usually through Eastern
European distributorships and plantation owners, it carries
with it a heavy price tag. At the other end of the spectrum,
some imported percales are very inexpensive, and for good reasons.
A combination of low thread count and high ratios of polyester
to cotton causes these percales to rip easily, feel rough to
the touch, and worst of all, pill. Pilling is that sand-paper
feel that sheets can get after washing. If you find your sheets
doing this, and are bothered by it, consider upgrading to a
higher thread count, and better content. Though this may mean
more expense, you really do get what you pay for. Often,
you'll see percale fabrics with a "sateen finish,"
which gives one side of the fabric a different satin-like texture
and luster. This is achieved through a special elaborate process
at the mill, where the fabric is woven. First, the fabric is
woven in such a way that the threads are twisted on the front
side of the fabric. Then, the fabric is "calendered"
or passed under a steam-roller-like apparatus that applies 2000
lbs of pressure per square inch.
QUESTION:
What is the Thread Count of the fabric used to make your flannel
products?
ANSWER:
The "traditional" Thread Count measurement of quality
as used in percale fabric is not applicable in flannel.
The measurement with flannel is "ounces of cotton flannel
per square yard". Both factories that manufacture
flannel products for us import utilize raw goods that are 4.3
oz. per square yard and are imported from Portugal.
QUESTION: What is the Thread Count of the fabric used
to make your Bridal Satin Sheet products?
ANSWER:
The "traditional" Thread Count measurement of quality
as used in percale fabric is not applicable in Bridal Satin.
The thread count is 288... but the content is the "key"
to the quality and our bridal satin is 100% Nylon Acetate.
QUESTION:
What is the difference between a comforter, duvet, coverlet
and bedspread?
ANSWER:
A comforter is a bed covering that is quilted, and reversible.
Traditionally, it drops 15" over the edge of the bed at
the foot and sides, and covers the top of the bed completely.
Most are filled with bonded polyester fill. A Duvet
cover is, quite simply, a cover that goes over your comforter.
Some people who don't know any better, will simply call this
item a "duvet" instead of a "duvet cover."
The duvet cover is basically a hollow comforter that opens at
one end and has a Velcro closure. A comforter is placed inside
of it, and removed whenever laundering is required. It is useful
to achieve a loose, unquilted and "frumpy" look to
the bed, or to protect a non-washable comforter. The reverse
is also true, when a person wants to display a non-washable
designer fabric during the day, but actually sleep under a washable
comforter at night, the duvet cover is the perfect solution.
A duvet cover also helps protect against the sometimes spiny
protrusions that work themselves through a down comforter from
time to time. People also use several duvet covers...
with one comforter to alter the look of the room without the
cost and space required for several comforters. In the
case of conventional beds (without a waterbed frame), a bedspread
covers the entire bed: from the pillows, to the floor (the "drop"
is usually about 21").
In the case of waterbeds, the bedspread covers the pillows,
just as a conventional bedspread, but is designed to be tucked
into the sides of the waterbed frame. Unlike a comforter,
a bedspread is not reversible and is much larger. A coverlet
is similar to a bedspread in that it has a cotton backing and
is not reversible. The "drop" for a coverlet
is about the same as comforter (15") and like a comforter,
most times a bedskirt and shams are used with it. A coverlet,
unlike a bedspread, does NOT have a 19" "pillow tuck".
QUESTION:
What is a "drop"?
ANSWER:
Aside from its use as a verb, the "drop" can refer
to three things in the linen industry. First, it can mean the
distance from the top of the bed to the floor, where bedspreads
are concerned. A bedspread's finished width is equal to the
bed's width, plus twice the drop. It's length is equal to the
bed's length, plus the drop, plus nineteen inches for a pillow
tuck. Secondly, a "drop" for a coverlet or a comforter
means the distance from the top of the bed to however far down
on each side you want the item to go. With the new thicker
mattresses, comforter and coverlet drops now vary slightly from
the traditional 15". Thirdly, when discussing bed
skirts, the drop refers to the distance from the top of box
spring (or foundation), to the floor.
QUESTION:
What is a bed sack?
ANSWER:
Bed sack is a style of mattress pad, in which the same material
that is used on the top of the bed, is also used on the sides
of the bed, and elasticized. While a fitted style mattress pad
would have plain broadcloth skirting holding it on to the mattress,
a bed sack style mattress pad would have quilted or felt siding.
QUESTION:
What is the difference between a velcro attached bedskirt and
a platform attached bedskirt?
ANSWER:
A Velcro attached bed skirt comes as a long strip, rather than
a square. The bed skirt attaches to the side of the foundation
or waterbed frame with a strip of Velcro "loop" that
is sewn along its top edge. The "hook" component of
the Velcro is provided separately in small strips, for the consumer
to attach to the bed foundation in any number of ways, including
hot glue, staples, tacks, or any other method preferred. This
variation of the bed skirt is easier to install and remove for
cleaning, and is the only option when moving the mattress to
insert a platform is impossible.
The platform attached bed skirt is made with a rectangle of
plain (usually cotton) fabric, slightly smaller than the mattress
size, around which the visible part of the bed skirt hangs on
three sides. This version of the bed skirt tends to have a more
appealing appearance than the Velcro attached variety, just
as a Windsor knot looks better than a clip-on tie. The disadvantage
is the same as the cravat, in that it is more difficult to install
and remove, especially if the mattress is extremely heavy.
Platform attached bedskirts are used much more than the velcro
attached ones.
QUESTION:
When measuring the depth of my mattress (when ordering custom
sheets) should I "add" to actual depth to allow for
shrinkage, etc?
ANSWER:
Not really necessary as the factory allows for this (depending
on the fabric used) when they cut the sheets. If you still
want to add to the depth... make it about an inch... no more.
QUESTION:
How do I measure the depth of my mattress?
ANSWER:
Just run a tape from the top edge down to the top of the foundation.
If you have a pillow top... look across the top of the mattress
from the side and if you see a "crown" that is higher
in the center... you may want to add an inch or two to the depth.

LOW
PRICE GUARANTY
QUESTION:
Why do you offer this guaranty? Are your prices the lowest?
ANSWER:
Some factories whose products we sell are not available anywhere
else on the Internet. Our low price guaranty with them
is "easy"... nobody else has the merchandise so our
price is the lowest! However, most of our factories sell
many other retailers that market the exact same products - some
at higher prices - and some at lower prices. Rather than
spending a zillion hours surfing the WWW for everything we sell,
we decided to adopt the policy of meeting or beating competition
(similar to Home Depot, etc) should someone offer our potential
customers a lower price.
QUESTION:
Does your low price guaranty apply to any type of retailer?
ANSWER:
No, just someone who markets on the Internet... so when you
contact us, please provide the website where you found the lower
price.
QUESTION:
Will you always meet or beat the price under your guaranty?
ANSWER:
Probably in about 99% of the cases (for competing Internet retailers)...
exceptions may be things like a competitor who has bought "close-outs"
or is dumping his own inventory at below his cost... they are
VERY rare!

MISC.
QUESTION:
What is meant by "Custom Fabrics and/or Custom Factory"?
ANSWER:
That simply means that the factory is going to produce your
order "as specified" when they receive it as apposed
to shipping from a finished good inventory. The assumption
when the word "custom" is used is that the price will
be higher... not true in "our case". Our "custom
factory" makes everything "to order" and their
entire system is set-up accordingly. They carry NO finished
good which saves them a ton of money.. & we in turn pass
those savings on to you.
QUESTION:
If my sizes are other shown on the cart, what should I do?
ANSWER:
Call us at 800 776-933.
QUESTION:
If my items are for an adjustable bed, what should I do?
ANSWER:
In most cases, you will be looking at linens for the "twinXL"
size. If your size is other than that and not shown...
or you have further questions, just
call us at 800
776-9233.
QUESTION:
Why do you not have catalogs?
ANSWER:
We are an Internet retailer and as such do not go to the expense
of publishing a printed catalog. However, if you do not
have a color printer, and wish us to snail mail you a
print of something we offer, just e-mail
us or call us.
QUESTION:
How big are the swatches that I will receive if I order some?
ANSWER:
Small... about 2x2. This is fine if you are looking for
"solids" and/or simply to feel the texture.
If you are ordering a print with a large repeat, we often send
a more than one swatch. If you want larger swatches, just give
us a call.
